On my two free days here without the rest of my class I went to a number of places, many of which I don't quite remember the names of them well.
First, I went to have dumplings for lunch. Then walked into a couple of malls that were all about 8-stories high. I've never seen that high of a mall so I was amazed at this, they were all alongtheu street and they were also pricey which is why I decided to not buy anything.
Later that day I went to the slaughter-house which was turned into small shops and cafes. The architecture was truly amazing and worth walking through. I found a dog cafe here and had to go in, it was heaven to me, coffee and dogs.
After this a few of us took the metro to Shanghai's World Expo. This was suppose to be the area where there was a lot of cool-modern architecture but most of it is temporary which is why we were afraid to go and find nothing. We got there and got off a stop too early so we had to spend more money to get back onto the metro but it was so worth it once we got there. It was getting dark but I think it was better this way because the lights in the buildings made everything looks better and more alive. We several buildings here, the China Art Museum was one of them which almost seem unreal it was really standing before me. We were all hungry and had the most expensive dinner out of the whole trip here but it was okay because we would only do this once.
The next day, our last day in Beijing we visited Shanghai's Art District: M50, it was pretty cool. We walked around with our mini boba we bought to refresh us from the hot weather. We somehow walked ourselves into some historical home museums that were actually really interesting. Then we walked to Taking Road, this was a small and very much crowded outdoor shopping center. They sold a lot of cool souvenirs from teas to wallets to fans to clothing, I had fun looking around.
After doing some souvenir shopping, my friend and I were determined to find shoes to buy while still here in China. We ended up going toNanjing Road with other friends and our intend was to visit the Bund but my friend and I need up going the opposite way to find shopping malls. In that one hour and half we were there we did some intense window shopping because we really wanted to find goes shoes. Unfortunately we didn't buy any but at least we had fun looking around.
The night was still young and ended up going to Yongkang Lu where there was a street full of bars. It was our last night in Shanghai and everyone came out to hang around with each other here.
